Two Mesquite ISD teachers recognized for two different awards
Mrs. Robin Johnson, a fourth grade teacher at B.J. Smith Elementary, recently received the Sue German Award at the New Jersey Writing Project Conference in Houston. This is the highest award given for outstanding teachers of literacy.
Meanwhile, Judy Heapes, a teacher from West Mesquite High School, has been selected as one of twelve top teachers in Texas by the University of Texas - Texas Exes. As part of the recognition, she will receive $2,500 in addition to other gifts.
