McKinney slapping slogan on street signs

— From hereon in, all of McKinney's street signs will have a jazzy "Unique by Nature" logo, according to the city of McKinney.

That's the city's snazzy slogan and they've decided it should go on the street signs in case citizens are giving directions or expecting deliveries and aren't quite sure exactly where they are. "Am I in McKinney?" they might ask. Then, catching sight of the "Unique by Nature" logo on their nearby street sign, they would snap their fingers and say, "Yes! I am in McKinney."

The new signs are already going up along Custer, to replace signs that were fading. And the city is looking next at border areas between McKinney and surrounding towns, where questions about territory loom largest.

Street Superintendent Paul Sparkman says that signs come with either green or blue backgrounds, and the good-quality signs last at least seven years.
