Three state titles brought back to DFW
The big game on Saturday pitted Flower Mound Marcus boys vs. Plano West for the 5A state title. Marcus came out on top, 3-2, to cap off a perfect 30-0 season.
The Plano West (25-2-2) girls went through Flower Mound Marcus to make it to the title game against Deer Park (28-1). The team rolled to a 3-0 victory to clinch the 5A crown.
The Colony (23-4-4) girls brought home their first 4A title on Saturday by defeating Friendswood 1-0. Unfortunately, the Frisco (19-5-3) boys failed to capture their own 4A championship. The team lost 3-2 to Wichita Falls Rider (23-0), who won its second straight title.

Rider did not win its second straight title with its victory over Frisco, as suggested in the article. Rider lost last year in the state tournament to Boerne.
