UPDATE: River Oaks church leader sentenced to 20 years in jail for sexual assault of a minor
Jason Wamsley, a youth director from the River Oaks Methodist Church, is on trial for nine counts of sexually assaulting a minor back in 2004. According the father of the minor assaulted, he and his wife headed to church on a Sunday afternoon when they realized that they had left something back at their house. Upon returning, they noticed a strange car in the driveway making the father suspicious. When the father peaked into his 16 year old daughters room, he saw the girl stripped down to her underwear with Wamsley on top of her. If convicted, Wamsley could face 20 years in prison for each of the nine counts of sexual assault he is on trial for.
UPDATE: Wamsley has been convicted on three counts of sexual assault to a child under 17. He is sentenced to 20 years in prison.
