Dallas Baptist’s Wilbur and Von Woesik lead golf teams at Heartland Conference Tourney
The men and women golf teams competed in the 2007 Heartland Conference Tournament at Hackberry Creek Country Club on April 16 and 17. Each team competed well, with the Women finishing in third place, while the Men finished in fourth place.
The women, who shot 124 over par and 16 shots better than the fourth place team, was led by freshman standout Heather Wilbur. Wilbur, who stayed in contention the entire tournament, fell a little short in the end when she finished up her final round with a 20 over par for the tournament and a fourth place finish.
Also, having a strong tournament was junior Jamie Shirley, who finished in ninth place, with a 29 over par, while freshman Krystle Chick finished in 13 place and sophomore Jessica Lamb in 18 place.
The men, who shot a 81 over par and three shots out of third place, was led by senior Ronnie Van Woesik, who finished in second place with a seven over par. Along side Von Woeski was freshman Bennett Smith, who finished in 20, while sophomores Brad Howard, Justin Upton, and Connor Smith finished tied for 22.
