Erma Nash Elementary School to put on its own “Amazing Race”
Kera Eason, a PE teacher at Erma Nash Elementary School in Mansfield, has created a program that requires both physical and mental skills — the Erma Nash version of the Amazing Race.
The race will take place Friday, April 20 throughout the entire campus and portions of the surrounding neighborhood. The all-day event is a competition between third and fourth grade classes, and it will begin with a marathon around the Erma Nash field.
Then, students will hit a roadblock, wherein they have to decide between shooting and making twenty-five basketball goals, or counting a series of blocks that separate the two playgrounds. Yeesh.
The fourth grade race starts at 9:00 a.m. and third grade race starts at 9:30 a.m. Each grade level will have a winner at the finish line.
