Dragonfly at Dallas’ Hotel ZaZa loses chef
DALLAS Chef Marc Cassel has left Dragonfly, the restaurant located in boutique Hotel ZaZa, to pursue other interests, says general manager Todd Iacono.
Cassel left last week. Before Dragonfly, he'd won awards and acclaim as chef at the now-closed Green Room in Deep Ellum for his inventive approach to cooking. Cassel helped devise the spontaneous "Feed Me" program in which diners would simply leave it up to the chef to surprise them with a series of dishes. But his signature dish is the homey "Dad's Sunday Chicken." Prior to the Green Room, he worked with Stephan Pyles at the also-now-closed Star Canyon.
A Dragonfly spokesperson said that the restaurant will not close but that with the hiring of a new chef, there'll be a new menu and possibly "some fun changes" made to the decor, as well.
