UT Dallas opens new Frisbee golf course
Thanks to some leftover change from the UTD Alumni Grant Fund program, students can now partake in the wonder of Frisbee golf (aka "frolf").
The newly-developed Disc Golf Course, located south of the School of Management, is open to students anytime - no reservations are needed.
Says UTD, "Disc golf is a low-impact game that is perfect for the beautiful Texas springtime weather."
Stop by the Activity Center for discs or information about disc golf or the Disc Golf Course or other ways you can pretend to be an athlete.
Disc golf is played like traditional golf. Instead of a ball and clubs, however, players use a flying disc, or Frisbee. The sport was formalized in the 1970's, which explains a lot.

I have a proud history of interest in unpopular sports. Disc golf is my latest interest. (Before that, orienteering, and before that, skateboarding.)
There are several good disc golf courses around. A nice thing about the niche sport is that it's free after the meager disc purchase price.

It's more intense than watching the tube. I'd be happy to show you the ropes. :)

Now I need to REALLY make sure I don't send money to the alumni association.

I'm not sure why people rag on disc golf like that. It's actually a lot of fun, and I normally don't like things like that.

All kidding aside, Dope, they really are fun. I enjoyed them thoroughly in sixth grade.
