Dallas food website puts mayoral candidates in frying pan
DALLAS DallasFood.org, which usually focuses on food-related matters such as the ideal amount of breading on a chicken-fried steak, has dipped its toe in local politics with its own food-themed questionnaire submitted to Dallas mayoral candidates.
The Dallas food site takes the popular Q&A approach, asking candidates their positions on topics such as chain-vs.-local restaurants (there's a softball!), smoking bans, community gardens, and farmers markets.
First to reply is John Cappello.
Dallasfood.org gained international notice in December 2006 with its expose of of Noka Chocolate, a high-priced chocolatier based in Plano -- an expose that moved to mainstream media, including coverage by the New York Times.
