Dallas father shoots daughter’s boyfriend
Byron Hutchinson was shot and killed yesterday by the father of his girlfriend, sez the police. Apparently, Hutchinson and his girlfriend has separated, but Hutchinson would not leave his girlfriend alone. Yesterday, he came over to her house at the 900 block of Cedarvale Court and started hitting and shoving the girl. The father, Larry Overshown, went out to protect his daughter, and when Hutchinson tried to hit him, the father shot him in the chest. Overshown is currently being held on suspicion of murder.

Trespassing on someone's property and physically attacking members of the family? Unhealthful activity.

Shooting unarmed people is not conducive to keeping your freedom. I'm glad to see the cops arrested the killer.

SK did you read the article? The daughter even had a protective order to keep the man away.
"Mr. Overshown came out of the house and told Mr. Hutchison to stop attacking his daughter, police said.
Witnesses told police that Mr. Hutchinson tried to hit Mr. Overshown, who then shot him once in the chest. Mr. Overshown called the police.
"He was a very cooperative and concerned parent," said Sgt. Gene Reyes, a homicide unit supervisor. "He got tired of this Byron Hutchinson coming over and causing problems for his daughter."
A grand jury will decide whether Mr. Overshown will be indicted."

Protective order shmotective order. He shot an unarmed man, so he's in jail. That's the way it is; that's the way it should be.

Sanders, what if it was that 90 year old guy in Detroit that got punched in the face 20 times...if he'd pulled out a gun during that beating and shot the guy, should he also go to jail?

That's a good point. If it was a different situation in a different place and time, the end might be different as well.

Looks like someone's ISP delivery of PegasusNews is a pinch slow since they're posting to a year old thread. Shall we update them on other news? Gas increased a dollar per gallon. (So did milk.) If the boyfriend had waited, he would have shot himself.
