Dallas Police Lieutenant fired after going berserk in Whataburger
Dramatic reenactment
Lt. Jay Cooper, 44, was fired yesterday because of an incident at a Whataburger back in November. In "Super Troopers" fashion, Cooper thought the fast food employee was cheating him out of $9 change, so the officer started to arrest the employee, showed him his badge, gnashed his teeth (well in my head I picture him gnashing his teeth, but it wasn't corroborated), then eventually left with the $9. The details surrounding the incident are a bit fuzzy, however, because Cooper adamantly believes he followed procedure for an officer that was (probably not) owed money at a fast-food restaurant, while the employees thought a Dallas cop was trying to rob them. And the hilarity ensues.
