Summit High School girls’ basketball coach named Assistant Athletic Director
Samantha Morrow will be stepping down from her position as the Mansfield Summit High School girls basketball head coach to take on the full-time position as the assistant athletic director for Mansfield ISD.
In her time at MISD, she and her team have won four consecutive state championships from 1999 to 2002. Morrow has been named Coach of the Year by the district and multiple basketball and coaching organizations such as, Texas Girls Coaches Association, Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, Woman’s Basketball Coaches Association and National Federation of State High School Associations.
“I always talk to my teams about opportunities,” said Morrow. “Opportunities, like playing a regional championship game to get to the state tournament. You only get those opportunities a few times so you can't pass them up. I believe this is one of those opportunities you go for.”
The Summit High School girls basketball head coach position will be posted on the district’s Web site soon. The district hopes to fill the position by the end of May.
