On Saturday, Dallas photographer and documenter of the homeless Hal Samples joined hip-hop trio P.P.T. and alt-experimental group Shanghai 5 for a multimedia concert at the Apple Store in Northpark mall.

According to Samples' blog, the event featured a "performance piece that consists of 12,000 images played one at a time" in a slide-show style similar to an old-fashioned stop-motion film.

Prior to the event, Pikhasso of P.P.T. said it was "gonna be a demonstration to show people how we all (Hal, P.P.T. and Shanghai) have used Apple products in our work."

Pegasus News staff member and P.P.T. fanboy Alan Cohen found time to head out to the store, donning a worn and somewhat bleached purple P.P.T. shirt.

"Yeah, it was cool," said Cohen while eating peanuts and licking the salt off his fingertips. He then placed those same fingers into the peanut bowl.

That was the best time I've ever had in the mall! Shanghai 5 had toured Apple Stores in the past, but having PPT and Hal Samples made this a really great event. A few eyebrows were raised, and PPT got a noise complaint, but we had a captive audience of people learning and listening. We need to take this on the road! Good to see you Alan, in the PPTshirt. I almost wore mine. LOL!

Laurie Anderson Laurie Anderson is indescribably delicious. She's hitting McFarlin tonight with her new show, Homeland, and you can bet it will contain intellectual stimulation and pure unadulterated weirdness in equal measure. An album will follow the Homeland tour in 2009. More info
