Women’s Chorus of Dallas is holding open auditions for “Season of Light”
Dallas, Texas - If just the thought of the holidays makes you start humming your favorite holiday tune or gives you thoughts of sitting around a piano with the fireplace going, singing every holiday song you can think of, you are invited to an open rehearsal for The Women’s Chorus of Dallas. This is a great time of community and creating fabulous music, not to mention the lives that will be touched along the way.
Open rehearsals will be held on August 27th, September 10th, 17th, and 24th promptly at 7:00 p.m. at the Sammons Center for the Arts. Sit in on rehearsal, meet with the other members of TWCD, and learn about becoming a member. Prior experience and music reading are not required. What is required is a desire to have a great time creating beautiful music for your own enjoyment and to share with our audience.
The season will feature three concerts, Holiday Lights on December 16, City Lights on March 15, and Heart Lights on May 10, as well as several community outreach performances. Current openings are available for both chorus members and soloists. Regular season rehearsals are held every Monday from 7PM-10PM.
The Women’s Chorus of Dallas offers women an opportunity sing the classical choral repertoire as well as popular music and other genres. Currently, they have 55 singers, give three concerts a season and sing at many community events. The chorus performs in support of and raises funds for Breast Cancer and AIDS awareness, Domestic Violence Shelters, and many other worthwhile causes. In July 2008, the chorus will travel to Miami, Florida to perform at an international choral festival.
