The Column Awards is now a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization
Today breaks new ground and growth for The Column Awards Organization! It is with great excitement and honor that The Board of Directors and the Executive Director/Producer of The Column Awards announce today the following breaking news:
The Column Awards is now officially a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization. This means that everyone who purchases a ticket to The Column Awards Gala can now use that as a tax-deductible donation. This means that all of our sponsors, vendors & individuals who donate services, supplies, etc. towards the gala can now use that as a tax deduction.
Executive Director/Producer John Garcia said today, "We've been trying for over two years to get this status, and now it has finally become a reality. The Column Awards Organization strives to grow each year. But within that growth our primary goal is how to better benefit our supporters and the Dallas/Fort Worth Theatre Community. This status will greatly help our community in a myriad of ways. The Board of Directors and I are overjoyed to finally reach this goal."

The Column Awards honor and celebrate the achievement and work of the Dallas-Fort Worth Theatre Community and include both Equity and Non-Equity productions. The 9th Annual Column Awards will honor shows presented in the 2007 Calendar year.
The Gala is also a benefit, whose proceeds (after paying all operating costs) go towards Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.
