American Airlines recalls 460 flight attendants
The flight attendants were on furlough due to budget constraints.
FORT WORTH According to this story in the Dallas Business Journal, it appears that the once-trouble flying giant American Airlines is starting to get back on its economic feet, recalling over 460 furloughed TWA flight attendants back to duty.
The attendants were furloughed after American bought TWA in 2001, eliminating any seniority TWA employees had from their years of service with the airline. After 9/11, over 4200 TWA flight attendants were sent packing.
For those flight attendants that accept the recall, they will likely start work in November or December of this year, just in time for the holiday rush.
