Polyphonic Spree - "H-O-O-P-S Yes!"
As part of the "MLS Represent" Campaign, which hooks local artists up with their respective MLS teams, Dallas' Polyphonic Spree has crafted the theme song for FC Dallas. The tune is entitled "H-O-O-P-S Yes." For those who don't know, Hoops is the mascot for FCD, formally referred to as Tex Hooper. It's an interesting song to say the least. You can check out the MP3 to your right.
Ears too good to hear your professional soccer team's song? You can read the lyrics below (transcribed to the best of my abilities).
"H-O-O-P-S YES" by the Polyphonic Spree
We said, h-o-o-p-s yes. H-o-o-p-s yes. H-o-o-p-s yes. H-o-o-p-s yeah!
Well I’m looking for this day. I’m looking to find my way, where all around my world is the perfect play.
And I think it’s finally time, and I'm feeling right in line. We’re all gonna come together for the Hoops today.
Where in the world do you think you can go? No hiding from this Dallas, Texas fate*.
We’re rolling along; we’re kicking upside down. It’s time for us to get the breakaway.
Well I’m looking for this day. Yes I’m looking to find my way, where all around my world is the perfect play.
And I think it’s finally time, and I’m feeling right in line. We’re all gonna come together for the Hoops parade.
Where in the world do you think you can go? There’s no hiding from this Dallas, Texas fate.
We’re rolling along; we’re kicking upside down. We just banged another shot to seal your fate.
We said, h-o-o-p-s yes. H-o-o-p-s yes. H-o-o-p-s yes. H-o-o-p-s yeah!
FC Dallas. FC Dallas. FC Dallas. FC Dallas.
I don't know about you, but I smell a Grammy!
*Gorilla vs. Bear thinks they are saying "fame" while I think I hear "fate." Of course, if I'm right, it would mean PSpree are rhyming "fate" with "fate" twice. So I'll defer to GvsB.
UPDATE: A user pointed out below that it was "fate."

According to the official lyrics at http://www.adidas.com/us/campaigns/ml... you are right, it is "fate". And yes, they did rhyme it with "fate". Sigh.

Although I probably should give that point back since the lyrics were on the official site that I linked to and I completely missed them.
