Theater Spotlight of the Week: Harry Parker

New interview with director of The Last Mass at St. Casimir's: Over the Tavern III, Harry Parker (far left).

Interview with Harry Parker, Director of The Last Mass at St. Casimir's

Harry Parker has been an integral name to the Fort Worth theater scene for a few years now, and thus, I feature him this week. Not only is he directing The Last Mass at St. Casimir's: Over the Tavern III for Circle Theatre which opens this weekend, but he is also the Department Chair and Professor for TCU's Department of Theatre.

We start off by talking about his attraction to the Fort Worth theater scene, and I ask him about what he has seen change, remained the same, or needs changing. I then ask him about he decides on what shows to direct. Next, since he is a professor, I ask him the difference of directing students versus professional actors.

  • 7PM

Mr. Parker then talks about The Last Mass at St. Casimir's: Over the Tavern III and why Circle Theatre has decided to put on this trilogy. He talks about this significance of the show and since it deals with religion, I ask how the audience has responded and how the play is universal.

The Last Mass at St. Casimir's: Over the Tavern III has one more preview (August 16), and officially opens on August 17. For reservations, call 817-877-3040 or stop by the box office.
