Asians No. 1 minority in Plano
PLANO Asians are now the largest minority group in Plano. In 2005, they constituted 16 percent of the population, or approximately 36,000 Asians, compared to 10 percent in 2000 and 4 percent in 1990.
Many live in the north-central strip bordered by McDermott Road to the north, Legacy Drive to the south, Central Expressway to the east and Preston Road to the west. Aside from census figures, the DMN points to Asia World Market on Legacy Drive as more tangible evidence. Because it's all about shopping, baby.

Assi Imports is not yet open. The store's interior is still under renovation/construction.
But if all these people spoke English, we wouldn't have delays like these in business development.
