Jurisdiction squabbles meant slow 911 response near Keller/Fort Worth border
According to a recent article in the S-T, the North Fort Worth Alliance met with public officials to discuss the problem of police response and jurisdiction in and around the Keller/Fort Worth border. According to the group, the situation in their area is dangerous due to squabbles over whether Keller and Tarrant County police are expected to respond or Fort Worth. The alleged arguing between the departments has resulted in slower and sometimes nonexistent responses to 911 calls. While some interim decision were made as to who should respond in given cases, additional meetings planned for September and October will hope to put the confusion to rest and restore the some of the residents' perception of safety along this apparently ambiguous zone.
