DALLAS The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas and Fearing's Restaurant will host "The Opening" September 14-16, 2007. The weekend-long culinary arts extravaganza presented by Bon Appétit magazine is a benefit for Chefs for Humanity, a coalition of celebrity chefs and culinary professionals working to battle hunger, provide community nutritional education and assistance, and supply humanitarian and emergency feeding relief during times of disaster.
Festivities begin Friday night with a cocktail and small-bites reception, and continue through the next two days with intimate events and hands-on cooking and spa experiences hosted by Cat Cora, Dean Fearing, and Ritz-Carlton chefs. There are events that run all day Saturday, starting with a breakfast with the chefs, followed by classes on topics such as "Dean's margaritas and guacamole." The centerpiece of the weekend is a Saturday night black-tie gala featuring Dean Fearing's induction to the Chefs Council of Chefs for Humanity and including a live musical surprise. The weekend culminates with a lavish Sunday Champagne Brunch offering two seatings.
Individual event tickets are on sale here or at 877-683-3082. Guests wishing to book rooms at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas for may contact the Web site or call 1-800-241-3333.
