Dallas restaurant Luqa sinking ship
We feel silly even mentioning it, since FrontBurner has been so thoroughly all over it.
DALLAS FrontBurner has the details on the inevitable decline of Luqa, the restaurant downtown whose fortunes were pretty much sunk from Day One. Creditors are surging in, etcetera.

Only to inspire, only to inspire....
Noone, not even LLM, can say I didn't honestly try to spend my money downtown.
Seriously, looked to buy, the whole thing. Probably ate out 6/7 days of the week, membership at the TC, Crow, DMA, hit Art Prostitute at every chance (Public Trust - boo!) everything I could do.
However, I bought a house with attached garage, pool and the whole bit for as much as I could have paid for a comprable sq ft at the Metropolitan, with no stupid HOAs.
However, after another terrible lunch at Urban Cafe or whatever it's called now, yesterday was moving day.
I really think if downtown wants to have people stay, the developers are going to have to be a little less optimistic on their pricing or something. If there was a stereotype for downtown dwellers, I should have been it.

I ate at Luqa last week and there is no question without Chef Gilbert the cuisine took a turn for the worse! I hope he stays in Dallas because I can't wait to sample his food in another venue.. who knows I may even have to travel for it..but well worth the journey!

Tragic that it is meeting it's demise. I kinda liked the place, even with it's eclectic flair of the food. I think it was a neat concept that just never really took off. Best of luck to David on finding a new gig, but I'm sure that won't be too much of a challenge.
