Virtual mentoring in progress.

Each IISD middle school will be involved in the 21-month project, which will provide extensive training in effective leadership for the integration of advanced and emerging technologies into curriculum and instruction to ensure student success in the 21st century.

Training topics will include the National Education Technology standards, 21st Century Learning, integration of technology with Marzano’s Classroom Strategies That Work, Levels of Technology integration, and Professional Learning Communities.

Each campus will receive on-site and virtual mentoring from the International Society of Technology in Education, Dr. Shirley Hord, and Dr. Bill Sommers, as they develop and implement a technology-rich mathematics or science intervention for students as well as establish new or refine existing professional learning communities to become highly effective collaborative support systems. Whoa.
