University of Dallas School of Ministry names Angeline Hubert assistant director of Catholic Biblical School

— The University of Dallas School of Ministry announced today that Angeline Hubert has been named the assistant director of the Catholic Biblical School (CBS). In addition to her new administrative responsibilities, Hubert will also continue to teach in the CBS.

“With enrollment in the CBS increasing from 70 students in 2002 to more than 620 in 2007, we needed someone with Angeline’s experience to help coordinate the classes, programs and activities in the CBS,” said Dr. Brian Schmisek, director of the School of Ministry.

Hubert earned her master’s degree in theology from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in history and in library science from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota. She taught history and theology in Catholic secondary schools in the Diocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis for 18 years, before joining the faculty of the Denver Catholic Biblical School. There she taught for 20 years, and served as the associate director of the school for six years. She is one of the original co-authors of The Catholic Biblical School Program published by Paulist Press and one of four School of Ministry faculty currently updating the four-volume set of workbooks that will be used for biblical study classes across the United States.

The University of Dallas School of Ministry is one of the only Catholic universities in the U.S. that offers a comprehensive, four-year CBS certification program. This program, which covers every book of the Bible, is also offered online and in both English and Spanish. The CBS is the largest program of its kind among all Catholic universities in the U.S. based on 2007 enrollment numbers.
