UPDATED with video: Violations and revenue from red light cameras down in Dallas area
The controversial red light cameras, in which violators who get caught on video going through a red light are fined $75, aren't bringing in as much revenue as hoped or expected in 2007. Dallas says that red light camera fines will be $6.5 million lower than expected. The city anticipated 21 violations per day per camera, but they're only getting 15. Red light violations have also dropped in Richardson, Frisco, and Garland, says CBS 11. Cry me a river.

So...is this a success in the eyes of CBS 11 and a failure in the eyes of Dallas? Something feels a bit backwards about both of those viewpoints.
Regardless, it's not a good week to be a red light camera salesperson...
