Fort Worth police officer shoots at lunging pit bull
FORT WORTH A Fort Worth police officer shot at a pit bull that lunged at him early Thursday morning. He went to a home on Little John Avenue to investigate a report of a runaway. The dog was struck but is expected to survive.

When a pit bull is lunging at you, how is that not attacking?
I'll give you $20 to fight a pit bull with a night stick. I'll even let you take a self-defense course for a few days beforehand.

This is the second time I've noticed that a list had two #1's rather than a 1 & 2, btw.
And the thing (apparently) lived. So, what's the issue here? If an animal has the nature of tearing apart a person's throat and it lunges at me, I'd choose the gun over a night-stick every time.
