Connected Mathematics Project 2 (CMP2) provides students with an investigative approach to learning mathematics. This complete math curriculum for grades 6–8 helps students utilize engaging interactive problems and motivating everyday situations to learn math concepts.

Many math programs are teacher-centered and driven. With CMP2 students are the driving the learning process. CMP2 is designed to train students to be problem solvers. Instead of just knowing that 2 + 2 = 4, CMP2 will help students achieve a better understanding of why 4 is the correct answer.

Over the past three to four decades, a growing body of knowledge from the cognitive sciences has supported the notion that students develop their own understanding from their experiences with mathematics. With more than 200 Fort Worth ISD math teachers now trained in the implementation of this innovative approach to a traditional subject, the opportunities for better comprehension and performance are boundless.

Several other local school districts are already employing CMP2. They include Birdville ISD, HEB ISD and Plano ISD.
