Arlington school playgrounds still closed due to wood chip removal
Most of those Arlington ISD school playgrounds that attracted attention a couple of weeks ago when the wood chips used in one of them spontaneously combusted are still not ready for playtime.
Only the playground at Fitzgerald Elementary has re-opened; the pea-gravel (which will replace the wood chips) has not yet been installed on the other 19 affected campuses, say school officials.
