Folks behind downtown Dallas’ Fuse plotting to make a Scene
DALLAS One of the coolest residential buildings downtown has to be the Dallas Power and Light Building, with its accompanying lobby-dwelling restaurant, Fuse. The folks behind that, including chef Blaine Staniford, are going for round two with Scene, a new restaurant being built in the lobby of the Mosaic, the former Union Tower complex that's about to become yet another hip place to live downtown. (It's being developed by the same team that did the DPL Building.)
Scene will feel just as modern as Fuse, but with a more "fine-dining," less clubby atmosphere. The menu won't focus on one cuisine but will instead incorporate influences from across Europe: Spain, Italy, France, what-have-you. It's set to open in November.

I would also like to give a big shout out and high tout to City Tavern at 1402 Main Street. Also one of the coolest buildings downtown and a great place to grab a cool one.Food's great too! Check it out.

How cool. Scene named itself after the old DMN Sunday magazine. I used to work on that rag and still have some business cards and personalized Scene stationery. Do you think they will get me a good table?
