Two Dallas-area branches of Carrabba’s Italian Grill shut down
Two area branches of Carrabba's Italian Grill were shut down over the weekend: the one in the center of Lakewood (as noted by Back Talk); and the one in Preston Center. An employee at one of the other branches said that neither store was doing very well. Does anyone remember the tongue-clucking that commenced when the Lakewood branch first opened? Interestingly, both of these branches were as "inner-city" as it gets, with the five remaining branches of what has always felt like a suburban dining experience all located in outlying towns.

The Carrabbas' location in Lakewood opened which consequently forced the refusal of the extension of a lease to a long-time local Italian eatery, which resulted in their closure. It's unfortunate that greedy developers/landlords choose to sign deals with mediocre chain restaurants and force the "neighborhood" places out...when will they learn....we don't want chains here...go to North Dallas, Plano, Frisco, etc.

I will miss Mama's chicken soup. The people were very nice and the food was excellent. I am sorry to see them go.
