Architect selected for SMU-sited Bush Library
Couldn't the Bushes have chosen a firm closer to home?
Maybe we could circle up and plan an ol'-time frontier welcome for those job-stealin' Yankee design firm folks? Here's a little structure whose design we're all familiar with.
Robert A. M. Stern Architects, based in New York, NY, has been awarded the contract to design the George W. presidential library, which is expected to be built on the campus of Southern Methodist University.
Seems the prez and first gal themselves met with head honcho Bob Stern last week at the leader of the free world's Crawford ranch - probably over barbecue beef on buns.
The Stern firm has a background in designing university facilities, having previously created structure designs for buildings on the Harvard, Stanford, Georgetown, Dartmouth and U. Mich campuses. Stern employs 300 people, including few (if any) Texans, probably.
I'm just sayin'.
