Nominations open for Collin College’s Living Legends program

0

— Nominations are now open for the Living Legends Tribute, a program by Collin College in Plano honoring those who have contributed to the community. On November 10, Collin College will recognize the 2007 Living Legends at a ceremony and dinner held in the conference center at the college’s Spring Creek Campus in Plano. Proceeds go toward the Living Legends Fund, which supports student scholarships and academic success.

Nomination forms are available at the college Web site, and are due to the Collin College Foundation office by September 7.

"Many individuals have not been recognized for their commitment to making a difference," said Ron Johnson, chair of the Collin College Foundation Board of Directors. "We invite anyone to nominate individuals who have greatly contributed to enhancing our community."

Nominees must reflect the college’s core values: learning, service and involvement, creativity and innovation, academic excellence, dignity and respect, and integrity. They must have profoundly shaped the progress of the community and have a record of service and philanthropy. Individuals and couples are eligible.

Anyone may nominate a Living Legend, but those nominated must live and/or work in Collin County or the college’s service area. Last year’s Living Legends included community activists, doctors, educators, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and public servants. Call 972.599.3143 or email mfrazier@ccccd.edu for more information.
