Man poses as officer, assaults woman; Irving police searching
IRVING According to a story in The Dallas Morning News, Irving police are searching for a man who posed as a police officer and assaulted a woman during a fake traffic stop at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 23.
The fake officer’s truck had red-and-blue flashing lights on the truck’s dash and grill, and the woman stopped just inside the Dallas city limits. When the man tried to pull her out of the car, grabbing at her shirt and hitting the side of her face with his hand, the woman began dialing a number on her cell phone, at which time the man fled.
Another white male, wearing a ball cap, was in the truck’s passenger seat.
Investigators are asking that anyone with information regarding this assault contact the Irving Police Department at (972) 721-2518.
