The TCU football team has accepted an invitation to play in the 2007 Texas Bowl against Houston on Dec. 28 at Reliant Stadium in Houston. The game will kickoff at 7 p.m. and be televised on the NFL Network.
The Horned Frogs will be making their ninth bowl appearance in the last 10 seasons. It's the sixth trip in seven years under head coach Gary Patterson.
"Bowl games are a reward for our players and the entire TCU community," Patterson said. "We're looking forward to making our ninth bowl trip in the last 10 years. It's also exciting to be headed back to Houston for the Texas Bowl and to face an old Southwest Conference rival in the University of Houston."
"We are most appreciative of this invitation to play in the Texas Bowl," TCU athletics director Danny Morrison said. "This opportunity is due to another job well done by Coach Patterson, his staff and our players.
"We believe the TCU community will be excited about our trip to Houston. In our 2005 bowl game, it was very rewarding to see the Frog Nation turn Reliant Stadium into a sea of purple. We hope for that same type of atmosphere. Everything affiliated with the Texas Bowl is first class, from the people to the city and facility. It should be a wonderful event against a quality opponent in the University of Houston."
The 2007 Texas Bowl will mark the 23rd bowl appearance in TCU's history. The Frogs are 9-12-1 with five wins occurring since Patterson came to TCU in 1998 as defensive coordinator. Before his arrival, the Frogs had four bowl victories in their history.
Prior to a 1998 Sun Bowl win over USC, in Patterson's first year at TCU, the Frogs had gone 41 years without a bowl victory since defeating Jim Brown and Syracuse 28-27 in the 1957 Cotton Bowl.
TCU will be playing its third straight bowl game in a facility that's hosted a Super Bowl. The Frogs were at Reliant Stadium in 2005 for a 27-24 win over Iowa State in the Houston Bowl. TCU defeated Northern Illinois, 37-7, in last year's Poinsettia Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.

Karaoke Oh yeah, you know you wanna belt it out like you're alone in the car. The microphone beckons. What else do you have to do on a Monday night? I mean besides watching football? If this is a bit far from your neighborhood, don't worry. There is a karaoke machine near you just waiting. More info
