Mostly just to keep in step with its spiffy futuristic new logo, the U.S. Air Force recently launched a "cyber command." As is the case with all other sorts of military commands, the cyber one is headed up by various designated leadership positions, one of which is called the Chief of Strategic Studies. The individual currently holding that position is Lt. Col.David Fahrenkrug, who will speak at Southern Methodist University this Wednesday (Dec. 5).

Lt. Col. Fahrenkrug (whose name, loosely translated from the German, means "driving mug") will address the topic of cyber warfare and the potential threat it poses to (who else?) the United States.

The talk is free and open to the public, and will be held in the Huitt-Zollars Pavilion in Embrey Engineering on the SMU campus. Start time: 3:45 p.m.

Beer Tasting at Kindred Spirits "He must have been an admiral, a sultan, or a king, and to his praises we shall always sing. Look what he has done for us, he's filled us up with cheer! Lord bless Charlie Mops, the man who invented beer, beer, beer, tiddly beer, beer, beer..." I have my beer drinking song ready. Do you? More info
