UPDATED: Woman uses cake to lure son-in-law, shoots him in the head
The bullet did not penetrate his skull.
Cake can be tasty, but when used as a lure by your mother-in-law, it can be downright deadly.
That might sound absurd, and it was meant to, but this scenario played out in real time in Rowlett. Jenelle Thompson invited her son-in-law to her trailer to enjoy cake and television. When he was sated and watching television she shot him in the back of the head. Miraculously, it would appear she missed the mark, or grazed the mark, since the bullet did not penetrate his skull. After barricading herself inside her home when police arrived on the scene, she relented and walked out. They noticed that at some point during the standoff she had shot herself as well.
UPDATE: Rowlett police are now saying that Jenelle Thompson was working in conjunction with her daughter, Robin Handel. According to reports, Robin Handel was having an online "affair" and wanted her husband out of the way. You can glimpse a picture of the little filly and her mother here.

In the 911 call, Handel told police he was suspicious and thought the incident was planned.

Details could solve this case! Did Jenelle bake that cake using Splenda because her son-in-law was a suspected diabetic or was this a sugar-ladden Kroger sheet cake (ordered while suffing out a Camel Light) proffered to make Handel laspe into a double wide coma?

This would have never happened in Garland. Here we have a municipal shooting range. This incident highlights why the government must subsidize weapons training at an early age. Especially, poor children could be in extreme danger if forced into a gun fight with a wealthy child.
