A Papa John's pizza delivery guy was wounded in the leg when his delivery vehicle was run off the road by another car, whose occupant fired a shot through his door.
On board was $71 worth of piping hot product, fresh from the oven, en route to a South Arlington address. Apparently the delivery was never completed, because the wounded employee drove back to his South Cooper Street Papa John's location, after which he was eventually taken to the hospital.
UPDATE: The Arlington Police Department is reporting that they arrested 18-year-old Zach Tyler on Saturday, Dec. 8 in connection with the shooting, and have charged him with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Not sure where the robbery part comes from since the driver wasn't actually robbed, but I'll leave it up to the police and courts of Arlington to figure that one out.

No kidding - at least angle for a sympathy tip before you go back to the pizzeria.
Guess it depends on the circumstance, though. Glass, blood, or whatever else might have made its way into the pizza boxes could lead to a hefty liability suit. Not sure about y'all, but I don't make it a point to sample my tomato sauce for blood before I enjoy pizza. I'd have the accountability to think twice about it if the delivery dude was hobbling up to my door after being shot, but not all people can say that.
What I appreciate most out of this story is Cynthia Neff's dedication - how else do you explain her uncovering the actual cost of the pizza? The real question is whether she rounded to the nearest dollar or if the total was $71 flat...

I'm pretty sure if a pizza delivery guy limped up to my door with a bleeding gunshot wound, I'd tip him $100 for going above and beyond the call of duty.
