Four Irving schools named among Texas Monthly‘s Best Public Schools
Four Irving ISD schools have been recognized in the December issue of Texas Monthly as being among the Best Public Schools in the state. Hanes Elementary School, Austin Middle School, Crockett Middle School, and Lamar Middle School were selected for this year’s list.
The National Center for Educational Accountability identified schools for the Texas Monthly list that exhibit outstanding performance in comparison to similar schools across multiple grades and years.
The list includes 12 percent of elementary schools, 13 percent of middle schools, and eight percent of high schools after evaluating three years of data (2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07). In comparison, 53 percent of elementary schools, 34 percent of middle schools, and 13 percent of high schools were identified as Recognized or Exemplary in the Texas Education Agency Academic Excellence Indicator System for 2007.
