Our friends at the Blue Shoe Project should be feeling great in light of a Grammy nomination for their album Last of the Great Mississippi Bluesmen: Live in Dallas, which was recorded at the Majestic Theater in 2004.
The album features performances by Robert Lockwood, Jr.; Joe Willie "Pinetop" Perkins, David "Honeyboy" Edwards and Henry James Townsend.
We've been running ads for the disc since late 2006, and its great to see it get the recognition it is due. You can buy a copy of it and other Blue Shoe discs here.
Congrats to the Blue Shoe folks on their excellent local work towards preserving the blues.
