With Christmas just around the corner, Rainbow Days is teaming up with Santa Claus to bring some holiday fun to Dallas area homeless children. Rainbow Days’ annual Saturday with Santa will take place this Saturday, December 8, 2007 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at the AMC Loews Cityplace Theatre, located at 2600 North Haskell, just northeast of downtown Dallas. Hundreds of families from local shelters will enjoy this festive holiday celebration designed especially for them.
Saturday with Santa 2007 will feature Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium along with refreshments, a stocking filled with goodies and a special visit from Santa Claus himself! More than 350 local children and their parents from 17 shelters are expected to participate in this year’s annual Saturday with Santa event. Saturday with Santa is a Family Outing program of Rainbow Days, it provides a wonderful family outing and afternoon “getaway” for these families who normally do not have the opportunity to be together away from the shelter. This year’s proud supporters of the event include: AT&T, Cheers for Charity, Match.com and Rainbow Days, Inc.
As Rainbow Days celebrates its 25th anniversary, proudly sponsored by AT&T, the organization is pleased to share that they have impacted over 70,000 children in the Dallas Metroplex and trained more than 21,000 professionals to facilitate life skills support groups state and nationwide since their inception.

Akira Sato Jazz trumpeter Akira Sato, by way of Tokyo, Japan and Vancouver, Canada, is an SMU faculty member and director of The Meadow Jazz Orchestra at SMU. He is also an adjunct faculty member at UNT where he teaches jazz arranging. Sato is also heading into the studio soon with other area musicians and playing at the Scat Jazz Lounge tonight. With all that he's up to, the least you could do is order a Scotch on the rocks and chill to some tunes. (Photo by flickr user arteunporro. More info
