Farmers Branch installs security cameras, uh, camera
Farmers Branch is taking steps to cut down on crime by, uh, let's see here, installing ONE camera (not multiple cameras, as the CBS 11 headline would have you believe) in a seemingly random parking lot that police say is frequented by graffiti taggers and vandals. If you're caught hanging around too long, the camera will take your picture and make the following announcement: "This is the Farmers Branch Police Department. You are in a restricted area. Your photograph has just been taken. You are to leave the area immediately."
Sure, that's nice and to the point, but I'm sure we can come up with something better, right? Like, say, "This is the Farmers Branch Police Department. Our restricted areas include public libraries (for certain artists), apartment buildings (for immigrants), and this here parking lot (for vandals and maybe underwear thieves). As you can tell, we're pretty strict around here, so why don't you just move along, 'kay?"

Their explanation for how the motion sensor works doesn't really make any sense, but from what I can tell, I'll have plenty of time to saunter up to it, climb up the pole, and spray-paint over the lens.
Unless I want to climb up with some small bolt clippers, and remove what seems like a pretty nice Canon Powershot.

Haha lol. But I think by that time it would have taken ur pic, right?
At any rate, it sounds like an amazing camera. But thats just for crime areas, how about cameras for commercial use? I've looked everywhere for companies that offer that, and prices and quality and so forth, and so far the best I've come across is 2mcctv. For home security, commercial surveilance, camera systems, etc. Tell me what you think?

Well, they never said what the delay was.
Obviously the way to find out is to stay out of the camera's range until a criminal wanders by, and time the camera to see how long it takes.
Or, you know, walk up to it from behind, climb up the pole, and do any number of unseemly things to it.
