Theater Spotlight of the Week: Robert Neblett

New interview with the Artistic Director of Inevitable Theatre Company and director of Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead.

Interview with Robert Neblett, Artistic Director of Inevitable Theatre Company

It is opening weekend for Inevitable Theatre Company's show, Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, so who better to feature than the Artistic Director of the company who is also directing the show?

We start off by talking about Robert Neblett's arrival to the Dallas theater scene and the recent founding of the theater company. I ask him what niche Inevitable Theatre Company fills and how he chooses the plays for the season. The last time the company performed was in March, so I ask him what the obstacles were in finding a space to perform and when their next show will be.

We talk about Dog Sees God and how this play was picked for December, a time for holiday productions. Since the show deals with the Charlie Brown gang all grown up, I ask him who the target audience is. He also talks about what he ultimately wants the audience to walk away with. Finally, since the playwright, Bert V. Royal, will be attending the December 13th performance, I ask whether this triggers nervousness or excitement.

Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead runs from December 6 - 22. Call 972-215-8059 for tickets or purchase online.
