Phil Steele's College Football Preview has tabbed 13 TCU players for All-Mountain West Conference honors.

Defensive end Chase Ortiz and safety Stephen Hodge were first-team selections, while linebacker Jason Phillips and safety David Roach are second-team picks.

Punt returner Brian Bonner, wide receiver Ervin Dickerson, placekicker Chris Manfredini and center Blake Schlueter were named to the third team. Kick returner Aaron Brown, linebacker David Hawthorne, cornerback Rafael Priest, tight end Shae Reagan and punter Derek Wash were honorable-mention choices.

TCU will face Houston on Dec. 28 in the Texas Bowl at Reliant Stadium in Houston. Kickoff is 7 p.m. The game will be televised on the NFL Network.

The Texas Bowl has the only postseason match-up of teams from the same state. The Horned Frogs and Cougars will meet for the 25th time. Only the Chick-fil-A Bowl, with Auburn and Clemson facing each other for the 46th time, has two opponents who have played more frequently than TCU and Houston.

Laurie Anderson Laurie Anderson is indescribably delicious. She's hitting McFarlin tonight with her new show, Homeland, and you can bet it will contain intellectual stimulation and pure unadulterated weirdness in equal measure. An album will follow the Homeland tour in 2009. More info
