ROWLETT As the City of Rowlett energizes its economic development efforts, the City is proud to welcome 12 new businesses and restaurants and a new multi-story office building.
“We are working diligently to attract new businesses to Rowlett,” said Mayor John Harper. “The Economic Development Advisory Board, along with city staff, are making economic development a top priority in the City of Rowlett. As the coming months progress, citizens will be seeing many more new offices and businesses calling Rowlett ‘home’.”
Not only is Rowlett enjoying the new Super Target located on Kirby Road and SH 66, but there are several new businesses getting ready to open in the new adjacent retail locations. Those include Ross Dress For Less, Rack Room Shoes, PetSmart, Dollar Tree, Great Clips and Mattress Giant. A little further to the west, a McAlister’s Deli will be locating next to LA Fitness on SH 66, along with a new Mexican restaurant called Maya’s Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar. A four story office complex has been approved to be located in the Real Estate Expo shopping center on SH 66, east of Rowlett Road.
On the west side of Rowlett Road on SH 66, Popeye’s Chicken will be locating their popular fast food chicken restaurant and in the near future, Rowlett will have a Service King Repair, a Goodyear Tire and Service store and a NTB (National Tire & Battery).
“Staff is working with developers and potential retail clients to ensure that their experience with the City of Rowlett is a smooth process and that their applications go through with ease,” said City Manager Craig Owens. “This is just the beginning of many more new businesses to come in the Rowlett and we are excited to see activity increasing. It is a very positive sign of the times to come.”
