Dallas Symphony Orchestra honcho Fred Bronstein headed for St. Louis

Dallas Symphony Orchestra president and executive director Fred Bronstein is leaving Dallas to oversee the St. Louis Symphony; he's been in Dallas since 2002.

His legacy here will probably be the recent hiring of music director Jaap van Zweden. He also turned around the financial situation somewhat, or as the DMN says, he "reversed a multiyear decline in ticket sales."

The St. Louis Symphony has lots of problems but it was the first orchestra he Bronstein worked with, as an intern in 1992.
