The first guests to check into the lavish $100 million Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine - which opens its doors today, Tuesday, Dec. 18 - may encounter construction workers making final adjustments to various infrastructures: the official grand opening won't happen until sometime in January.
Nevertheless, those who pioneer the resort experience will be able to soak up the North Woods adventure theme of the hotel/resort, which includes "wolf den bunk beds," four restaurants and a built-in water park (accessible only to hotel guests). There's also a craft and activity room for the kids, educational programs and a treasure hunt.
Suite rates start at $159/night during this pre-grand-opening period; they'll increase to $199/night next year.
