Security ramped up at Dallas’ Big “T” shopping plaza
This past week, Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway, along with Dallas police, store owners, and a vacantly-smiling Mayor Tom Leppert, were on hand to commemorate the addition of new security measures to the Big T Plaza in southern Dallas.

In late November, 21-year-old college student Jonathan Hopkins was shot and killed within the urban shopping center, located at 4515 Village Fair Drive.
Aside from increased security and more lights, the shopping center has donated a sky watch tower to the DPD. The best part of the deal is that it costs the taxpayers nada, zero, zip, zilch.
The video at right has more info, along with a non-speaking appearance by PegasusNews Content Partner Mike Davis of Dallas Progress as well as a Big T Plaza janitor, a Mr. Harris, who was almost certainly asked by WFAA to mop the floor while being interviewed, in an attempt to add some imagery or flair, but really it's just awkward.
