Copper Canyon sex offender told to move
Copper Canyon's first registered sex offender has been told to get packing because he is living too close to a kids campground.
Nicholas Shane Laboi, 18, recently registered his new address in the 1100 block of Post Oak Drive. His house is close to the boundary of Camp Summit, which caters to children, youth and adults with disabilities.
Laboi was convicted in 2006 of possession of child pornography and sentenced to five years probation. The pornography consisted of explicit photos of young boys, according to town officials.
A requirement of Laboi’s probation is that he reside at least 1,000 feet from any place where children regularly gather. Laboi's house is only 890 feet from Camp Summit.
"Our town attorney, Terry Welsh, has drafted letters to Denton County District Attorney, Paul Johnson, and to Laboi’s probation officer requesting that Mr. Laboi either move or his probation be revoked," said Copper Canyon Mayor Sue Tejml.
Meanwhile, the Copper Canyon Town Council passed an ordinance on December 10th that bars registered sex offenders from living closer than 2,000 feet from a school, church, daycare facility, or day camp where children regularly assemble.

Maybe they should make the distance 1 mile. That would make sure that no sex offender can live in town.
No, better yet, not only the residency restriction but also lets make sure they can't shop where children may be, or how about not allowing them to even go where children are, including churches.
Perhaps, if they get out of jail the good citizens of Texas could just shoot him.
