McKinney’s Eddins Elementary donates 450 toys to less fortunate students

The toys were delivered to Finch Elementary, a Title I school in the McKinney district.

MCKINNEY - Students, staff and members of the school PTA from Eddins Elementary School in the McKinney Independent School District recently donated more than 450 toys to students at Finch Elementary School, a Title I school in the district.

Even more than the thrill of giving, Eddin's students look forward to the tax write-offs.

The toys were delivered to Finch Elementary by members of the Eddins PTA on Monday, Dec. 17. Once the toys were delivered, parents of students that attend Finch selected a toy of their choice to give to their child, and an Eddins PTA representative wrapped the toy which the parent could give to their child at Christmas.

The toys were donated through the school's 'Shop and Share' toy drive run by the Eddins Elementary PTA program. The gifts included such things as dolls, balls, bears, and games.

For more information about the Eddins Elementary School 'Shop and Share' toy drive, contact Melanie Raleeh, principal of Eddins Elementary School at 469-742-6600 or by e-mail at mraleeh@mckinneyisd.net.
