Art events and receptions in Dallas-Fort Worth, Dec. 21-23
In addition to the plethora of ongoing holiday art shows around DFW, there are a few special events and so-called "broo-haha's" happening around town this weekend.
Friday
- The Dallas Contemporary is hosting "an exlusive evening of shopping, collectable art, fashion and performance" featuring Project Runway contestant Elisa Jimenez. So to all you P.R. fans out there, make sure you RSVP because seating is limited.
- Reflection Fine Art is having an extra special Friday Night Gallery Series with a special appearance by Superstring and friends.
Saturday
- The Family Film day at the DMA this week is featuring "Who Is the Artist?: Painters of the American Scene".
- And, while not an art event, I would like to share with all of you a random holiday event, of sorts. Move Studio is hosting their annual (and free) Lightstream Winter Solstice Dance, in which they celebrate the end of the year by dancing together with joy, writing from the heart and meditating in movement and stillness. March your feet (sore from shopping), and your fingers (red and swollen from wrapping), and dance away the wear and tear of the Christmas Season.
